New training group to start in February/March 2026 at the Munich and Minden locations. The number of participants is limited. I expect the groups to fill up quickly. If you would like to take part, it is a good idea to make a non-binding reservation for the Basic training course now. You will then be informed immediately when a binding registration is possible.

As singers or teachers/therapists who (want to) work with the voice, we have the opportunity to decisively develop the vocal expression of others. How successful we are with this depends to a
large extent on how fully we have understood the various vocal-physical connections.
The first part of the training provides a basic physiological overview of the structure and function of the “instrument voice” in eight intensive weekends over a period of two years. Around 50
functional exercises are presented in detail and their physiological effects are made comprehensible. This enables participants to apply them specifically to themselves and others in their
respective professional field. In addition, questions from participants are answered in 24 online meetings.
Participants learn how they can influence and train the most important vocal parameters - pitch range, intonation, volume, range, articulation, timbre, dynamics, etc. - in themselves and others with targeted exercises. The teaching of vocal pedagogical principles and exemplary teaching demonstrations are part of the seminar.
The training is supplemented by an introduction to “Trauma Release Exercises” (TRE - an easy-to-learn series of exercises for releasing stress and trauma), which can support vocal development in pedagogical/therapeutic practice.
The vocal connections are always developed on the basis of our own experience. The joy of developing our own voice therefore plays a major role. From here, the physiological connections are explained in detail so that what has been experienced can be repeated and applied in pedagogical/therapeutic practice.
The training is aimed at singing teachers, choir conductors, speech therapists, (music) teachers, educators and anyone who is entrusted with developing the voices of others and wants to handle
them responsibly.
Due to the high practical component, participation is also suitable for all singers who want to be more conscious and successful with their own voice. The method is independent of the
stylistic vocal application (classical, pop, jazz, rock etc.).
No previous knowledge is required for the Basic training section - just a desire and curiosity to explore new vocal paths. If desired, the seminars can be supplemented by individual work.
The training is accompanied by a comprehensive script and recorded (video). This means that individual missed appointments can easily be made up for. As there are two groups running in parallel
(Munich / Minden), it is also possible to attend the other group if you have problems with the dates.
You will find the final dates on this page from January 25!
The course is certified by the BDG (Bund deutscher Gesangspädagogen). Continuing education points are awarded.
At the end of the training you can be certified as a Potential Oriented Vocal Practitioner®. Certification at the end of the course.
Briefly explained | The back when singing
“In 2023, I then started POVT training to delve even deeper into the subject and to be trained by it in a pedagogical context. I always had great respect for giving singing lessons myself. Susanne prepared me wonderfully and thanks to her I now feel much more confident and competent. I know that the method works. Not only for me, but also for my students - and that's an incredibly wonderful feeling.”
